In short: FleetCtrl stores the details your sign-in provider gives us, the data your Tesla streams to our servers, and your subscription status. We never collect your car's location, we don't sell data, and you can delete everything from inside the app. FleetCtrl is an independent app and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Tesla, Inc.
FleetCtrl (formerly GBH FleetControl) is made by Gareth Hall, trading as GBH Apps, in Perth, Australia. This policy covers the FleetCtrl iOS app and the servers behind it. Tesla and the Tesla logo are trademarks of Tesla, Inc.
When you sign in with Google, Apple, or X, we store:
When you connect your Tesla account, your car sends data to our servers through Tesla's Fleet API. We store:
We do not collect your car's location. FleetCtrl never requests your car's position from Tesla, and never asks your phone for its location.
Subscriptions are sold through Apple. Apple tells us the subscription's status, product, and renewal and expiry dates, along with its transaction identifiers. We never see your payment card or billing address.
The app uses Google's Firebase Analytics to record which screens you use, events such as commands and purchases, and any errors it hits, including the error message and where it happened. Analytics derives an approximate, city-level location from your IP address. We do not use advertising identifiers and there is no advertising in FleetCtrl. Google explains what it collects and how it processes it at How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
Driving reports you request are generated on our servers and stored as PDF files linked to your account.
Your data is stored on Google Cloud in the United States. It travels over encrypted connections, including from your car to our servers, and access is restricted so that you can only see your own account and the vehicles you own or have been given access to.
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with the services needed to run FleetCtrl.
fleet.gbhapps.io key under Settings → Locks on your car's screen.Gareth Hall, trading as GBH Apps, is the data controller. We process your data on these legal bases: to perform our contract with you (running the service and your subscription); our legitimate interests in improving the app and keeping accounts and systems safe (the analytics and diagnostics described above); and your consent where we ask for it, such as for notifications, which you can withdraw at any time without affecting what came before.
You also have the rights the GDPR and UK GDPR give you, including data portability, restriction and objection, and the right to complain to your data protection authority; email us to exercise any of them.
If you think we have mishandled your personal information, email hello@gbhapps.com.au with "Privacy complaint" in the subject. We look into every complaint and reply with what we found and what we have done. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the data protection authority where you live.
FleetCtrl is not intended for anyone under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and if we learn that we have, we delete it.
We operate from Australia and our servers are in the United States, so your data is processed there regardless of where you live. For transfers out of the EU, EEA, UK and Switzerland we rely on our providers' standard contractual clauses and, for Google, its certification under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
When we change this policy, we'll publish the new version here and update the date at the top. For changes that significantly affect how we use your data, we may also let you know in the app. Continuing to use FleetCtrl after a change means you accept the updated policy.
